Hi
i am getting these errors, at the end of ReScene process of this release (and some of other PROPHET releases)! and the process is extremely slow as hell with this release.
this is a coding problem, right?

I don't see how it's any different from http://rescene.wikidot.com/forum/t-685183 for example and you failed to include the 'actual error'.

Yes, it all boils down to a coding problem, but I don't know yet what's causing it. I still have to look into it. It isn't replicating the exact rar.exe behavior for all cases. That's why it fails.

Compare it with replicating money: you don't know all the security checks beforehand ;)

how may i get "actual error"?
the error say "file x line y", right? isn't that helpful at all? :?

Yes, it's helpful, but it's only the stack trace. The "actual error" are the lines below it:

ValueError: Still not fine :(.
Unexpected Error: Still not fine :(.

I also put "actual error" between quotes because it's just the message I've put there because the result isn't good.
Those lines weren't included in your screenshot, but adding them too would be far more easier for me to know what it's about. Stack trace is useful for debugging.

About it being slow:

• The release is more than 22 GB: http://www.srrdb.com/release/details/Sacred.2.Gold.Edition-PROPHET
• It failed, so I guess it tried the 2 different algorithms
• A single RAR file is 300 MB, so finding the correct rar.exe executable takes a lot longer too
• You could have a lot of rar.exe files that behave the same anyway (See http://rescene.wikidot.com/rar-versions)
• A recovery record is available, so lots of calculations are necessary

The reconstruction speed has been improved for recovery records in newer code (Use long integers rather than Numpy for recovery records), but NumPy was included in the srr.exe before, so that improvement should not cause a huge difference with the latest code.

BTW, you could post links if you had enough karma (1). I've changed the setting now so registered users can always add them. (Allow Wikidot users to post links with a karma level greater than or equal to 0 under the Abuse menu: Control spam and abuse)

nope, it just detect 4.20 (and beta and x64 version of it) as "good rar version".
newer and older rar versions get ignored after some time.
i have tried all versions of 4.20 which took more than 2 hours each and i got the same exact error at the end of the first algorithm always and note that the program stopped right there and never tried the second algorithm!!!
once i temporary deleted all of 4.20 rar exe files, and then tried to rebuild the Scene files. the program tested and ignored all of rar exe file, then it started to test all of them anew with second algorithm, but i lose my patience after watching the program for more than 5 hours with exactly no process at all (i am talking about second algorithm) and then i cancelled the process. it is not normal, right?

that page wont open in my end, is it newer than "pyReScene-0.5.1-win"?

PS: why didn't you add WinRAR 5.XX in your archive? newer releases, specially CODEX releases, are packed with newer version and can not be reconstructed with old files.

As far as I know, 64bit gives the same result. New betas probably won't make a difference either.
The first algorithm is first because it's the faster one. But the results are not as good as the second slower one.

I've heard something like that before where it was stuck in a loop and recreating the same temp files over and over again.
If you say the previous run took 2h+ each, and you use more than 3 versions, it should run at least 6 hours to do it all over again too.

Yes, it's newer because it is just the code from the code repository.
Using Python 3 on the latest source will be the fastest to reconstruct.

Source releases can be found here on the wiki though. Executables are too large, but they can be found on Mediafire if I didn't forget to add them.

Which file is that exactly?
pyReScene-0.5.1-win.zip is 26.8 MB and contains the Windows executables. The whole repo is slightly larger if I remember correctly.
NumPy is included in those executables, but it isn't necessary anymore with the latest code.

i don't know anything about programming, can you edit the code instead?
at the end of the first algorithm i am getting this error which stops the process and delete the temporary files, and name of the files that pyReScene create in the %temp% is different in the second algorithm.

No, it is not something I will be doing.

If you want to stay up to date with the latest repo code you'll have to start using a proxy, a vpn or ask around.
